At the November 24, 2009, White House state dinner in honor of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Nobodys were virtually absent. It was an evening for Somebodys. Which would you rather be - a Nobody or a Somebody? Emily Dickinson’s poem might help you decide:
I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you - Nobody - Too?
Then there’s a pair of us?
Don’t tell! They’d advertise - you know!
How dreary - to be - Somebody!
How public - like a Frog -
To tell one’s name - the livelong June -
To an admiring Bog!
