Ingrid Newkirk is President of PETA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. In her new book, The Peta Practical Guide to Animal Rights, she answers two often-asked questions about hunting. We’ll just give the first lines to her answers, for there is plenty of truth there without going to the rest. From page 148 of her book:.
Question: Isn’t hunting okay as long as I eat what I kill:
Ingrid Newkirk: Did the fact that Jeffrey Dahmer ate his victims justify his crimes? What is done with a corpse after the murder doesn’t lessen the suffering.
Question: Isn’t hunting much less cruel than factory farming?
Ingrid Newkirk: Yes, and Jack the Ripper was less cruel than Hitler - but that didn’t make what he did acceptable.
