Practically all people contribute to destroying Nature while rationalizing they don’t. What we need to do is borrow a page from Walt Kelly’s cartoon character Pogo, admitting “We have met the enemy and he is us.” In the following, Carl Sagan probably had religion in mind but what he says applies to thinking climate change is fiction:
It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.
