James D. Watson, co-discoverer of the structure of DNA, had his DNA mapped but does not want to know if he has the gene associated with a heightened risk of Alzheimer’s, for this reason:
I had absolutely no desire to waste time worrying about having some genetic predisposition to such a hideous disease.
