Here is an extract from her letter to the editor of The New York Times Book Review, March 22, 2020, page 6:
The world population of around 7.8 billion is more than twice what it was 50 years ago. Slowing down that trend is at least as important as building more wind farms or electric cars. Finding ways to thrive in a more static economy is a vital project for the earth, and for us as a nation.
